The cult classic movie "The Goonies" came out in 1985, 38 years ago.
Ke Huy Quan, who played Data, won best supporting actor at the 2023 Academy Awards.
Other members of the ensemble, such as Jeff Cohen and Kerri Green, have mostly quit acting.

Sean Astin played the leader of The Goonies, Mikey Walsh.

Astin was just 14 years old when he played Mikey. It was his movie debut.

Astin landed another iconic role in adulthood as Samwise Gamgee in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Now 52, Astin has also appeared in TV shows such as "The Big Bang Theory," "Stranger Things," and "Supergirl." He most recently starred in "Perry Mason" on HBO Max.

Josh Brolin played Mikey's older brother, Brand Walsh.

The character was known for his trademark red bandana.

"The Goonies" was also Brolin's first movie.

Brolin has also enjoyed a successful acting career since "The Goonies." He joined the Marvel cinematic universe as the villain Thanos in the "Avengers" movies.

The last Avengers movie, "Avengers: Endgame," came out in 2019. He reprised the role for an episode of Marvel's new Disney Plus TV series "What If...?" in 2021.

Brolin also starred in a remake of the movie "Dune" in 2020 and the Amazon Prime Video series "Outer Range" in 2022.

Corey Feldman played the smart-mouthed Mouth.

Feldman was a bona-fide '80s child star, appearing in movies such as "Gremlins," "Stand By Me," "The Lost Boys," and "License To Drive."

Feldman has continued acting in smaller projects while speaking publicly about his struggles with drug addiction.

Feldman has voiced characters in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" TV shows and video games. He also appeared on reality TV shows, including "The Two Coreys" with childhood friend Corey Haim and "Marriage Boot Camp" with his wife and brother.

In recent years, he has spoken out about his treatment as a child in Hollywood.

Quan has shared how he struggled to find acting work after filming "The Goonies" and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" as a child. He eventually moved behind the camera, working as a stunt coordinator on "X-Men" and "Enigma," and earned credits as a cinematographer and assistant director.

The success of "Everything Everywhere All At Once" in 2022 pushed Quan back into the spotlight 38 years after his film debut, earning him an Oscar for best supporting actor. He is also set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in "Loki" season two this summer.

Quan told reporters the day after his win that all of his fellow "Goonies" cast members reached out to congratulate him.

"I love all of them so much," he said, according to AP News. "Every single one of them was so happy ... We're family forever. Goonies never say die."

Jeff Cohen played the clumsy Chunk.

The accident-prone member of the gang originated the "Truffle Shuffle."

Cohen stopped acting, but he's stayed in the industry as an entertainment lawyer.

Cohen attended Berkeley and earned his law degree from UCLA, then cofounded the entertainment law firm Cohen Gardner in 2002.

He currently works as his former castmate Quan's lawyer, and he helped him with his contract for "Everything Everywhere All At Once," Quan told The Hollywood Reporter.

Kerri Green played the popular cheerleader Andy.

"The Goonies" was Green's first on-screen role.

She quit Hollywood to study art at Vassar College. Her last acting role was more than 10 years ago.

She founded a production company, Independent Women Artists, in the '90s. As an actor, she appeared on "ER" and "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit," and after a decade-long hiatus, she starred in the film "Complacent" in 2012, according to IMDb.

Martha Plimpton delivered legendary one-liners as Stef.

Among her memorable lines are "I feel like I'm babysitting, except I'm not getting paid," and "Next time you kiss him, do it with your eyes open. It's a whole different experience" after Andy accidentally kisses Mikey.

Plimpton has continued to enjoy a successful acting career with starring roles in TV shows such as "The Good Wife," "Raising Hope," and "Younger."

Plimpton won an Emmy in 2012 for outstanding guest actress in a drama series for "The Good Wife." She also voiced the character of Yelena in "Frozen II" in 2019.

Plimpton most recently appeared in "Sprung."
